tried this a few years ago. found some old notes and decided to rate it. decent for a good price

  • 82 Rating

Nice caramel smell to my nose with what seemed to be a little vanilla

  • 79 Rating

Aroma is very full with vanilla and barrel spices. Taste is ok. It’s a bit bourbony and heavy. Not my favorite. Reminds me of the Kirkland Añejo. Finish is very good though. Full and warm and even some baked agave sneaks in.

Nicely aged, a little heat, cooked agave shows well. Side note, nice closure set up on this bottle.

  • 90 Rating

This picks up right where the reposado left off, an excellent oak treatment that retains some agave notes. The extra time in barrel has tempered some of the spice and sweetness and leaves an excellent product.

Nose: had to go searching for the slight hints of cooked agave here but was like grasping at straws, baking spices, coffee, Carmel and vanilla Palate: no cooked agave, vanilla, caramel, honey, coffee, slight licorice finish

The lote (batch) number is 02203/2404A.  COLOR: Dark amber AROMA PROFILE: Fruit (cherries & roasted pineapple, hint of caramelized banana), light smokiness, caramel, vanilla, cooked agave & baking spices (light cinnamon, nutmeg), vanilla, herbal notes, oak/barrel notes (not overly woody but oaky-forward). PALATE: Subdued fruit, punchy oak & barrel spice, baking spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves), cherry skins, dried orange peel, light caramel & vanilla, light black pepper, dry cocoa powder. FINISH: 5-6 seconds MOUTHFEEL: Medium viscosity in the glass; Medium-thin mouthfeel

An enjoyable aged Añejo with solid barrel influence that hit just perfectly for getting through a bottle with friends. Oak, caramel, and spices came out in both the aroma and taste.

  • 84 Rating

Subtle flavor and spice. Very mild taste and finish. Good starter for sipping.

weird teq, more whiskey than teq, cinnamon, caramel, and oak flavours, sweeteners probably, it's not naturally sweet. Not my favourite at all

Color: light to medium gold, looks darker in the bottle. Nose: caramel, cooked agave, vanilla, butterscotch, mineral, cinnamon, chocolate, and alcohol. Good nose! Palate: palate, not as good, but isn’t terrible! You get a lot of the same flavors from the nose, but added oak, and whiskey flavors. Finish: short, but warm! Overall, I wouldn’t buy again, there’s much better options for the price! Bought in Colorado for $70

Very smooth, light and easy drinking. Beautifully crafted

  • 73 Rating

Not a fan of the finish, too much Astringency.

  • 91 Rating

Smooth and easy sipping, mellow

not a fan of artificial tasting sweet Añejo's.

  • 68 Rating

Smells of dried fruit. Hint of butter scotch aftertaste and tobacco , not such a fruity taste.

  • 92 Rating

Very nice Tequila. Not like Ocho kr Vila Lobos, but atul nice. Varamal, vanilla and taste of heavu burbon.

Gets points for price.(Never a good way to start a review. Haha). The main feature is the sweetness. This is heavy caramel with the secondary flavor being vanilla. There are some minor notes of agave and oak but not to much. I’m going to conjecture that the Cenote line is a gateway tequila from Jose to more complex and flavorful tequila. I encourage everyone to keep progressing because there are some wonderful tequilas in your future.

Initially sweet tasting. after... more.... harsh honey aroma.

  • 93 Rating

Sweetness enough for sipping. A good 1/3 of this anejo Cenote to 2/3 good repasado for an outstanding Margarita. Can't beat the price for this quality.

  • 92 Rating

Nice barrel character. great sipper. vanilla is there but not an additive. this has become my house sipper for $55. better than most $75+ anejo I've had.

  • 78 Rating

Alcohol, vanilla on the nose. Thin, but not too thin mouthfeel. Warm, spices through finish.

  • 85 Rating

A little light on the nose but pleasant with some oak, vanilla and agave. It goes down easy and those flavors intensify to a great finish that pleasantly lasts. Reasonable value and I will buy again.

  • 68 Rating

Taste is a bit harsh. The añejo is a drop off off from the Repasado

  • 78 Rating

Definitely my favourite of the 3 Cenote Aroma is oak and agave Taste is vanilla, pepper and chocolate Finish is smooth and tastes of chocolate
