Really great nose with some nice cooked agave sweetness. Palate has a ton of black pepper, citrus, cooked agave sweetness that’s pretty noticeable from the Michoacán agaves. The finish is nice. Definitely has some heat at 108 proof but got better as it opened up. This is a good sipper for aficionados. Pretty complex and delicious stuff.

Batch# Lote No. V-S-B3 XA Bottle:786. ABV 43% Heavy notes of baking spice right up front. No real surprise for a 9-year XA. But, some cooked agave still shows through. Some sweetness is also present but not a traditional chocolate or vanilla it is more fruit-based. Flavor definitely leans toward whiskey with spice and a bit of almond. Spicy finish is medium-long. This one is very nice but the heavy barrel presence and whiskey leaning is just not my style. 12/24/2025 Annual XA tasting 2025

Tasted at Mexico in a Bottle: 2025 I enjoy the Blanco very much, and this Repo exceeds it in presentation imo. I distinctly recall Caramel and Wintergreen notes with baking spices. I had a few pours and noticed that the ethyl sting, sometimes found in higher proofs, was subdued, allowing the flavors to dominate just like the Blanco. I’m on a mission for two full bottles. 1 to savor and 1 to murder. How do I remember tasting notes from two months ago? Because it’s that delicious.
