Nose: Oak, musk, caramel, agave, pepper Taste: oak, sweet caramel, pepper, cinnamon, agave, and spices A $50 Repo is not bad at all

Nose: sweet agave forward, pepper, herbs, citrus, cinnamon Taste: sweet cooked agave dominant, herbs, pepper, light touch of cinnamon on the finish Relatively simple profile. For around $45 not a bad value here.

On the nose I immediately get hit with oak, cola, fruits and butterschotch. Then there are subtle notes of agave, clove, ginger, vanilla, brown sugar, white pepper and walnut. Taste is well balanced. Notes of caramel, oak, vanilla and brown sugar are front and center. The background notes are honey, sweet green tea, barrel spice, agave and black pepper. Mouthfeel is watery but it does coat well. Finish is a bit short with quick notes of honey, oak and butter. The move to 1621 definitely made a great change in this Reposado.

Nose is agave forward followed by lime, grapefruit, earthy, vegetal, straw, pepper and a hint of cheese Taste starts with a nice peppery bite. Agave, cinnamon, herbal, citrus, and earthy. Nice oily mouthfeel with a medium/short finish with notes of cayenne, mint and grapefruit.

Aroma: Light nose. Fruity but more like banana not citrus, light oak Flavor: Butterscotch or caramel—sweeter than the aroma but not too sweet, oak, cinnamon on the back palate. Short finish. Crushable. Would be an easy one to share with friends new to tequila. The distillery change is a big step up.

Nose: Bold citrus with very light notes of hay and malted vanilla. Taste: Agave, earthy, herbal, white pepper. Finish: Nice initial tingle that mellows quickly, with a lingering herbal trail. Not too light or too hot, right down the middle. Interesting contrast between the different aroma and flavor. This is very easy to sip. Its citrus and earthy notes would make for a killer tequila mojito, or of course a margarita if that’s all you can imagine. The distillery change is a big step up.
