Bottle: AMM’s First Blind Tasting of 2026, Bottle #5 Appearance: Clear Nose: Cooked agave, mint, pine, citrus, black pepper, and alcohol…fairly light Palate: Cooked agave, pine, citrus, lemon, black pepper, and alcohol…lacking complexity, similar to the nose Finish: Alcohol, vegetal, celery, and black pepper…medium to long duration with a medium viscosity and a little more green My blind score: 80 Panelist average blind score: 84.6875 Difference: -4.6875 Overall: I want to start off right away admitting that there is nothing wrong with this tequila. The cooked agave is there, but it didn’t immediately remind me of any familiar 1414 profile and, in comparison to the other tequilas in this tasting lot, this was…just a little boring. Other panelists noted the same minimal complexity/intensity, which I agree does make this more approachable for a wider tequila-enjoying audience…but, personally, I just wanted more out of it. I’m more than likely going to give this another try and I do expect the score to go up by a point or two.

Nice level of agave. Vegetal and minty with a thick mouth feel. A nice high proof .

Blind tasting with AMM: This was a well balanced blanco with a nice mix of brightness and earthy depth, leaning slightly into a mineral driven profile. On the nose, cooked agave comes through clearly, supported by black pepper and a noticeable mineral quality. Citrus adds a bit of lift and freshness, keeping it from feeling too heavy. On the palate, the cooked agave remains the focal point, backed by earthy and vegetal notes that give it a grounded feel. The minerality carries through nicely, adding structure, while a slight buttery note brings a subtle creamy edge that softens the profile. The finish is medium in length, leaving behind a mix of agave, earth, and light minerality. Overall, this is a solid blanco with good balance and a touch of complexity, especially with that buttery character rounding things out.

High proof that is easy to drink. Lots of Agave and pepper on the nose with some alcohol. Nice mouth feel, with intense flavors of agave and pepper with a mineral finish and a bit of a burn that stays due to the 108 proof. Tried at Sabor Y Cultura 2026.
