The cheese is front and center on the nose with a little bit of vanilla. The taste is agave, pepper, citrus and some caramel. This is enjoyable.

Nose is cooked agave, vanilla and oak. Taste is cooked agave, pepper and caramel. The glass was a Chisholm Standard Proof Jarrito.

NOM 1586 | Something to put out front, I do like malolactic funk in my tequila. Many do not so my rating may not reflect your preference and that is okay. Also, between the Diablo and Anejo, the Repo isn’t at the same level for me. The nose is nice as I do pick up that malolactic note. Yes, there is also agave. Just not much else I am picking up. I do get the barrel notes if vanilla, oak and caramel but they are not prevalent. The taste is sweet agave first. Followed by pepper and caramel, vanilla and oak. The malolactic smell is less pronounced in the taste. This is good but not as good as many other repos in its price or as good as its sister expressions in the Diablo and Anejo.

NOM 1586 | Nose: agave cooked / pepper / lactic funk / caramel/ vegetal / earth / herbal/ melon / lime / lemongrass / hay / nutmeg/ hint of chocolate Taste: sweet cooked agave / pepper/ alcohol/ earth / melon/ lime / tea / bell pepper/ nutmeg/ chocolate/ molasses/ hazelnut/ honey Finish: an unforgiving bitterness snd alcohol take over as pilot an co-pilot on this trip across your palate. The mouthfeel is good with a nice clean finish, except bitter alcohol. This reposado is quite good, until it’s suddenly not. It’s not bad, it’s just that you can taste the potential of this brand/expression in every pour, but the alcohol and bitterness really pull down my score.

This repo was a very light amber in the glass. Aroma of cooked agave, cinnamon and oak. Flavor of cooked agave, black pepper and vanilla. The finish was light to medium but nothing memorable.

NOM 1414 | Blind tasted: Another surprise! Old school reposado framework and rich in flavor! Wished they continued to this at NOM 1414

NOM 1586 | Tasting flight @ Little Conejo More of a mixer than a sipper, basic framework tequila

NOM 1586 | Process is good but definitely have the lactic mustiness to it. Starts off with agave and eggs then when it opens it goes to a nice agave sweetness, a ripe fruit with a little to no egg nose to it. Taste isn’t bad agave, caramel, black pepper little fruit I’m the middle (apricot) to it. The fruit really rounds this one out and brings it together. With a long finish

NOM 1414 | I did a quick side by side comparison to the current Chamucos from #1586. The older #1414 was bolder, richer and more nuanced. If you see some from #1414, it’s probably worth a shot.

NOM 1586 | Cinnamon and vanilla on the nose

  • 81 Rating

NOM 1433 | Slight agave on the nose, very buttery finish

  • 80 Rating

NOM 1558 | What a turnaround from the Blanco, this tequila is big and bold, it would make intense cocktails! Earthy, herbal and tons of pepper. Not for the faint hearted.

  • 83 Rating

NOM 1586 | Nose: Fruity with prominent oak for a repo. Pleasant barrel spices: cinnamon, anise, cardamom and vanilla. Flavors: There is a borderline woody harshness going on. A touch of bitterness accompanying the pepper - but this mellows as it opens up. On the flip side, semi oily mouth feel with vanilla and caramel, help to pull it all together.

NOM 1501 | Flat cola, nocina, plum candy, Saigon cinnamon

big fan of this brand. delicious repo. nice fink on the nose that doesn't carry too much onto palate. honey dipped apple flavor. milk chocolate note too. finish dissipates quickly

NOM 1414 | Cooked Agave is front and center and complex, the barrel influence harmonizes well with the agave and is present without overpowering the agave.

  • 82 Rating

NOM 1414 | Nom 1414 38 % abv Destilado de agave Light caramel Sweet spicy agave ..little bite at end of medium finish. Older bottle - little disappointment

  • 68 Rating

Black lickerish smell No big flavor - waterish flavor Finish is easy and light - no burn like water Wouldn’t recommend compared to other options and would drink again if it was the only option

  • 73 Rating

Smells earthy. Tastes like cherry and wood kinda smoky. Not a big flavor. Not any burn / light. Not top preference but would drink again. Wouldn’t compared to other options. Average value, $61 at total wine. Better options for the same price. “Flavored water” NOM 1586

pronounced funk in the smell. agave sweetness in the taste with a bit of the funk. No perceived harshness in the finish.
