Not a lot here, watery, the sweetness on the nose is artificial

Not good. Once again like the Blanco a lot of confused, aromas and flavors. The flavor is also very flat. Not a lot of agave to be found.

Tastes like additives, the blanco did not. It’s not super offensive like other brands but for me it’s not as enjoyable. I can imagine this would be popular with people who like sweet tequila.

  • 67 Rating

Not impressed….taste of fake caramel and fruit right up front that goes into a vegetable astringent style taste and ends with little pepper.

  • 66 Rating

Vanilla bomb, not sure how this is an additive free offering but this tastes like pancakes, birthday cake, vanilla pudding, and coffee cake all in one with a light agave touch. If you likem sweet this is for you.

Made the mistake and bought this crap bottle. Lesson learned, always check the NOM. This is one that’s going straight into the trash.

I tasted the 1438 head to head with the 1414. I had to come back and lower my score on the 1438. I really hate how artificial this tequila tastes and smells.

Didn’t notice the NOM, picked up a 1414 blanco and had to try the anejo unfortunately it was 1438. Very mute and just a chocolate notes, typical of 1438 Anejo

Additives should be illegal

Sparse and thin for a reposado, but what subtle flavors do exist are marshmallow, natural vanilla bean, and light oak. This clean profile allows the natural agave flavors to come to the forefront, however, the same simplicity lets the ethanol dominate the finish. Very easy drinking. Would love to compare this to the additive free 1414.

side by side tasting tells me this stuff has additives sweet aroma and taste of vanilla I'm looking forward to trying nom 1414

I didn't know there was agave nectar in there until I read the description but I knew it was way too sweet for my liking with a pretty bad finish. I think if I knew it was sweetened my rating may have been higher by a few points.

Similar notes as the blanco. Add caramel and butterscotch and remove some agave. Again, can’t wait to try the core lineup from 1414.

One of the best repos out there

A sweet smoky caramel tequila due to natural aguamiel added. Great for dessert sipping or mixed with Fever Tree Grapefruit. Good value. Always keep a bottle for something different but don’t compare to a traditional reposado.

Supposed to be additive free but man I can't see how. Very sweet. Makes me think I just drank a carnival. Oddly metallic, minerally finish which did not balance well with everything going on. proving complexity doesn't mean quality sometimes.
