Tequila Ocho Reposado - Widow Jane
“NOM: 1474 Bottle Number: 5,529 Date and place purchased: April 27, 2024 in Clermont Florida Price $74.99 Date opened 6/8/2024 Initial encounter: very clear almost rose colored with a tint of gold. Really shines. Strong agave smell. Initial pour was very smooth and more sweet flavors are noticed…vanilla? Also starting to get a sense of earthy smells about five minutes in the glass. Initial taste: sweet agave, and also I’m getting a sense of the bourbon barrel it was sitting in which adds a nice contrast but it doesn’t over power the richness of the sweets inside the bottle either. No sting just pure smoothness all the way down. 1/4 empty: June 8, 2024 (day 0). No change in flavors smoothness or texture. A very solid initial run. Halfway empty: June 12, 2024 (4 days opened) Look is the same, pour consistency is the same, but the sweet agave flavor is getting more over powered by the bourbon barrel it was sitting in because the taste has become less sweet and more earthy. You can tell the flavors and oxidation from the bottle being opened are having an effect because the rich flavors are starting to become very ‘spent’ while sitting in the bottle. Still a very decent drink at the halfway point. Less smooth also but that’s expected when you get to the halfway mark. Date finished: June 15, 2024 (7 days opened). OVERALL: This is a great bottle. Tequila Ocho are known for having very smooth tequilas with rich smooth flavors and this doesn’t disappoint. I would suggest to keep the same flavors this bottle should be consumed in about four days, to allow maximum flavoring. The bottle sat in a bourbon barrel which adds more of a contrast to the sweet flavors so you get a sense of earthiness with fruitful tastings making it a very enjoyable drink. It’s a little on the pricey side for it being $75 but for the most part this is a great tequila bottle. ”

Rey Sol Extra Añejo
“Aroma: lots of vanilla and sweetness to. However the punch lacks when tasting. Taste washes away very quickly and not much agave can be tasted after that. After taste wasn’t noteworthy either. ”
