Ocho Tequila Plata
“Outstanding expression. Nose is the best part with cooked agave highlighted by fresh grass, herbs, and olive brine. Mouthfeel is oily and very soft and warm. Flavor of sweet roasted agave with grassy notes and brine with a nice minerality. This is really nice and the price locally ($48) was great. I’ll be looking to stock up on this one. ”

The finish lingers although i detect a chemical essence (acetone) that was slightly displeasing. I enjoy other expressions from this NOM and had high expectations for this new brand and given the price point. ”

Siete Leguas "Siete Décadas" Blanco
“This is an exceptional expression. The nose has cooked agave and a delightfully complex mixture of minerality (slate) and mint and floral and citrus. I pick up scents of watermelon. The nose is so inviting in its softness and complexity. Mouth feel is silky smooth. Flavor profile is cooked agave forward with the minerality and mint coming through. Cooked agave explodes on the finish and lingers exceptionally long until the essence of pepper takes over. One of my favorite blanco ever. I only knocked it a couple points due to the price but this is worth it for any blanco enthusiast. ”

The sweetness of the cooked agave rises on the finish which is delightful. This is among my favorite blanco. ”

Yeyo Blanco
“The nose is very nice with rich cooked agave that is complemented by vegetal and mineral and citrus notes. Mouthfeel is nice and silky and flavor profile follows the nose very well with sweetness from cooked agave and vegetal and mineral shining through. The finish turns somewhat hot and peppery and that is not my preference so my score reflects that experience. Value is good for an additive free expression that has many notable characteristics. ”

“Wonderful blanco. A complex nose containing sweetness from cooked agave, fresh green vegetables and fruit, minerals with anise and spices (cinnamon, cloves, pepper). Hint of tobacco smokiness also. Mouthfeel is oily and warm without a burn (this is higher proof). Flavor is dominated by sweet cooked agave which is nice. Finish is the best part as it lingers long and sweetness intensifies and some floral notes arise amidst warmth of anise and baking spices. ”

Casa Noble Single Barrel Reposado
“Barrel 691. Cotton candy, oak, caramel popcorn, and slight agave on the nose. Also some fresh green vegetable aroma which I can’t quite define. Flavor is very soft agave with wood and warmth dominating. Finish is warm and mild. Lingers in subtle way. The complexity and diminished agave make this more like anejo, and a one-day aging technicality categorizes it as reposado. ”

El Tesoro Extra Añejo
“Oak and butter dominate the nose with scents of charred wood. Smooth and soft mouthfeel. Surprising appearance of sweetness of cooked agave in the flavors and the oak that was so prominent on the nose becomes wonderfully balanced in the flavor profile. Finish brings forth floral essences. This is additive-free so the complexity and balance and evolution of aromas and flavors is something to behold. I kept going back to the glass over and over to confirm what my senses were telling me. ”
