3 amigos organic blanco NOM 1570 Sample from kyle koskey Agave, vanilla, pepper, citrus, astringent, alcohol with a weird aftertaste

NOM 1570 | Nose: Overall, a gentle somewhat subtle nose. Buttery caramel with surprising vanilla and olive undertone. Fruit start to emerge with grapes and plum. Lime and spearmint in the mix as well. Palate: Light to medium body which gets fully as it opens up. Caramel, vanilla, and oak off the bat. Apple, cherry, plum and grapes follow. Spearmint and lime on the backend. Warm spicy finish. Overall, I decent additive free blanco. Short finish without a lot of depth.

Smooth, neutral smell has a vague flowery hint; the raw flavor repeats that smoothness and suddenly kicks in with something almost sweet that disappears almost before you recognized it was there; mixes nicely in the margarita while enhancing the added syrup sweetness.

NOM 1570 | Good aroma. Taste is very herbal.

NOM 1570 | Aroma: (21) agave, black pepper, citrus notes Taste: (26) same as aroma. Finish: (20) quick left with agave & citrus Overall: (83) for a budget tequila $35 not bad, but for $35 there are better options.

NOM 1570 | A linger that reminds me of mezcal and some pepper. Initially mild sweet but fades fast.

Easy sipping without salt. Sweet flavor

It’s an interesting tequila. This tastes much better than 3 amigos regular blanco. All of the 3 amigos tequilas that I’ve sampled unfortunately have a harsh and alcoholic bite. This is primarily citrus and white pepper forward on the nose and palate with an alcoholic finish. Very short finish, although not unpleasant

Oaky flavor finish with a hint Citrus aroma

It was attractively priced at Total Wine and I got what I didn’t bargain for. I thought it might make a good mixer but it fell flat there too because I immediately got a bizarre chemical tire rubber flavor. Cannot recommend.

3 Amigos Blanco is a fine blanco that punches well above its weight ($25 @ Total Wine). Honestly, I wasn't expecting it to be this good. This can do double duty as a mixer and as a sipper. Nose: Beautiful. Clean, vegetal, bright green agave and a splash of black pepper. A hint of lime citrus and jasmine. The initial alcohol on the nose dissipates after a little time in the glass-it is not off putting. Taste: Slightly sweet in the initial draw. Medium viscosity and a slight oilyness with a balanced warmth. The taste mimics the nose, but is it does have a little harshness. Still, very good. Finish: Long peppery warmth.

There's a bold flavor to this that I really like, especially in blood orange margaritas. The price, however, prevents me from regularly buying this tequila. Only when it goes on sale.

NOM 1570 | NOM 1570. Citrus fruity flavor. Not a great aroma, but tastes good. Not a bad alcohol burn aftertaste. Overall impressive.

  • 84 Rating

Aroma is agave and citrus, clean but not complex. Flavor is more interesting, nice, changes into more complex over time. Nice after taste, not too hot from alcohol. Overall a clean, quality, good value tequila. More for mixing than on the rocks.

This tequila carry a very strong smell and taste, but can pair well if mixed.

This blanco slides smoothly down the center of your tongue and before it rests seductively in the rear. A slight alcohol burn followed but quickly dissipated. Cooked agave and vegetal flavors coat the mouth, works well at room temperature. For the price it is well worth keeping it in the bar stock and for use with the higher class mixed drinks.

Great mixer! Very fair price for the quality.

Expensive for an organic. Cannot tell much flavor between organic and non blanco.
