“Aroma is the highlight, flavor has some Agave but tastes artificially sweet and vanilla flavor. Finish ends a bit harsh. good for mixes ”

“1st let it breath for 15 - 20 minutes in the glass to be at its best. Yep, made a difference. aroma: Agave, spice, some low citrus and alcohol flavor : agave, nice spice, some honey sweetness, a little lime and some mineral. Mouthfeel is excellent, med to full viscosity that really brings the flavor out. finish: goes down slightly sweet, then dries out and followed by a low cinnamon heat in back of throat. value: so while not cheap or an outstanding tequila at a amazing low price, it has a very high value as I think it is excellent and one of the best I have had at this price point. I paid $69. overall: outstanding tequila! it competes with some of my favorites while also being different. I have tasted quite a few tequilas at double or triple the price which were not as good and would loose in a blind tasting. highly recommended! ”

“So I was given this to taste blind and was told it was a rep not an anjeo. I liked it, I thought the wood aged character was great for a reposado. I also felt it blended well with the tequila. good aroma, flavor and finish. once I found out it was an anjeo and the price the score suffered. Especially when you have 4 or 5 other easily available options that are better for the same price. Yet I would not turn it down and will probably drink again. Worth a taste.”

“nose is mostly alcohol and low agave. flavor is low agave, a little vanilla ,and some low mineral attributes with actually a nice viscous mouth feel finish ends in a mellow cinnamon heat that also drys out quickly. overall: a little mellow/ bland but does meet it's smooth advertising. A good gateway tequila for on the rock for friends looking to take the next step up from Jose. For real tequila fans there is much better for the same money”

“Fortaleza is easily one of the best and most solid brands of tequila and one of my top three favorites. In the traditional lineup of Blanco, reposado and anejo I think the reposado is the sweet spot. where the tequila is perfectly balanced with the wood aging for my tastes. All of the three should be enjoyed straight up or on the rocks, never ever with any mix or adjunct you're just wasting money and honestly it's just a damn shame. it seems this brand has caught on with a lot of people as it's getting very hard to find I did find a liquor store in New York and they had the winter 2022 and they're asking $400 a bottle, significantly more than the recommended price. So note to self, if you're out looking for anything beer, wine, tequila etc and you see a bottle of Fortaleza My recommendation is to pick it up and save it for a rainy day. You will not regret it. “Aroma: cooked agave, alcohol, low vanilla Flavor: this is my favorite part, very well balanced between tequila and wood notes, very drinkable makes you want to have another sip. Finish: more black pepper than cinnamon but ends clean, nice aftertaste Overall: I would say very good especially compared to many of the mainstream popular tequilas like patron casamigos etc.. they come in right around the same money and this is definitely a better value. You can drink this one straight up or in a mix and either way you'll have a smile on your face.”

“so this anejo seems like a good value for the price until you start analyzing it a little more deeply and realize that all the wonderful aromas and flavors are most likely due to additives, the vanilla itself is out of balance and gets a weird flavor as it disperses as you're drinking it. I'm sure if you gave it to most people who are unaware of all the additives that are currently being added to Tequila they would think it's wonderful because it is smooth and does have a nice flavor albeit to almost unnatural levels even for a well-aged tequila”
