This anejo starts out from an aggressive blanco. Once rested its very roasted agave-forward on the palate with smooth bourbon finish. Notes of maple and black pepper. Woody/oaky finish. Complex and quite delicious.

Tons of cherry and oak on this, I’m getting more agave on this that I do with the repo, go figure. This is the picture of what anejo should taste like if I were to write a text book. Classic & dependable.

Peach aroma.

At Mexican Fiesta 2026. Caramel, cooked agave, mildly sweet, nice wood notes, very well balanced. Sweet vanilla smell.

At Mexican Fiesta - Cinnamon toast smell. Taste is spicy peppery with some barrel and a little agave in back. Finish is more peppery spice with appropriate lingering heat and a little cinnamon.

Gran Orendain Añejo Nose: Barrel and oak lead the aroma with a pronounced bourbon sweetness. Some autumn baking-spice notes underneath. Taste & Texture: Bourbon-like sweetness immediately takes control. The barrel influence dominates the palate and pushes the cooked agave into the background. Finish: The bourbon character continues through the finish and remains the dominant impression after the sip. Overall: Very barrel-forward, with bourbon sweetness running from the nose through the finish. There are some pleasant oak and autumn-spice notes, but the barrel influence overwhelms the agave character for my taste.

I have tried this Tequila After visting the destillery. It‘s Not far away from Fortaleza. It was a nice destillery tour and I enjoyed the tequila.

Mexican 40% abv. version, lote: LK1718A20920, bottled on 18-11-2017, tasted on 9-10-24. Color: yellow to dark yellow. Aroma: light sweet cooked agave, hint of acidity, light citrus, hint of calvados, ripe apples and pears, hint of sweet pineapple. Palate: confirms aromas perceived, good sweet sour and citrus balance, thick body, sweet and aromatic. Light pepper spiciness. Finish is medium to medium long, hint of sweet cooked agave, ripe apple and pears with citrus notes persist.

Caramel, sweet, honey

Light body with a kick. Warming spices. Caramel. Woody.

Very strong smell. Quote strong on pallet. Harsh after taste. Smokey I found.

Very nice Anejo! Oaky well balanced, would recommend.

The Gran Orendain blanco is good, but the anejo was a turn off. It had that whiskey/bourbon barrel feel but not well balanced. The barrels really do have an impact on an anejo and flavors imparted. I’ll stick with blanco in rotation 100 percent.
