This brand has some really solid offerings. The Tahona blanco is clean with nothing added. It’s very easy to drink with great earthy minerality. I hope they release this at a higher proof because I tried a sample and it was fantastic. This Tahona is going to be at a great price point which will be a really good introduction to the brand if you’re not familiar.

Lots of cooked agave in the aroma and flavor here. But that's not all. On the nose I am getting earth, black pepper, lime, hay, limestone, and wet cement. This is the classic tahona and fermented-with-fiber profile that I find enjoyable. The flavor has prominent mint and cinnamon, with a tiny bit of white pepper rounding it out. The mouthfeel has a full body and is quite oily, and the finish has a pleasant sweet sensation. Overall this is a nicely crafted product.

When I first opened this I could smell it before I even poured it, barn yard vibes. Sweet, Funky, aromas of agave, hay, wet cement, lime citrus. Def got some complexity on the nose Light on the tongue, warm Flavors of sweet agave, mint, and I get a mineral, malolactic flavor too. Can definitely tell it’s tahona crushed, good tequila

A: big, roasted agave and earthy. T: same as aroma, with a bit of pepper and minerality. M: Light heat, a bit oily, medium finish O: Solid tequila. Maybe just short of "great," but pretty darn good. Happily drink again.

This Carrera was head and shoulders above the more ornate short bottle. Nose is surprisingly sweet for a blanco. The sweet continues on an inital tastes but turns to agave quickly, with a great long agave finish.

Tequila Carrera Tahona opens with a quick burst of pepper, salinity, and grassy minerality—but it fades fast. A higher ABV could help those vibrant notes linger a little longer.
