Zumbador Blanco High Proof
“Easily the most impressive budget tequila I’ve tasted. On par with Tapatio 110 but value puts it in another stratosphere. Nose vegetal sweet potato cooked agave and some herbal basil notes. Palate is sweet agave up front. Tart citrus mid palate. Proof point drys the palate on the back end but no sour notes. Finish lingers on the tongue a long while with that citrus tartness and pepper. I’ve had this awhile. Was absolutely fantastic for margaritas too. This will be a new staple item for the bar.”

Casamigos Tequila Blanco
“Rating from memory. My brother in law asked me to make some margaritas with this over the weekend. Took a sip out of curiosity. Absolutely awful. No idea how this is popular. I don’t even get the cake batter people are saying. Floral bitter agave and saccharine sweetener. Maybe some mint and pepper on the finish. But mostly just alcohol. I put some St. Germaine in the margarita to mellow it out. Pitcher went but not a tequila you want to showcase even in a margarita. ”

De Nada Tequila Reposado
“This is good on every level but doesn’t stand out in any way either. Nose gives nice muted notes of vanilla and agave when taken in lightly. But if you inhale too deeply it gets slightly astringent and even burns a bit. Palate is crisp and clean. Again gives you a hint of the good stuff but never quite opens up. Finish is peppery but tannic too. Bought for the beach house. Like the aluminum bottle for the beach. Will make some good drinks with this. Price is good but Arette or El Tequileno are better value repos I think…opened up after a while. Nose and palate are excellent. Finish still closes out a little too bitter for my tastes but overall this is very good. ”

Montagave Blanco 'Héritage'
“This is a special tequila. Bright crisp and fruity up front and a touch of barrel spice on the finish. Subtle but lingers. Thoroughly enjoyable. Color has just a tint of rouge from the barrel. Nose has fruity undertones. Much more than the typical citrus notes. This has a berry note too. With some mint and plenty of agave for good measure. Palate is best part. Hits the front of the tongue with that berry note. With a natural sweetness and then a short hit of oak and mineral mid palate. Spice kicks in on the backend and lingers on the tongue for a nice finish. Flavors punch above the proof point but no rough edges. Maybe I wish the proof was a few points higher but no complaints. Great Summer sipper. ”

Arette Blanco
“Not a fan of the Arette nose in general. Has a little of that lactic funk I personally don’t care for. But the flavor is sweet and vegetal. Lime zest. A hint of cinnamon on the back end. Fairly complex. Viscous. The finish is peppery and long for the proof point. Great value pick for casual sipper and high end margaritas. ”

Yeyo Blanco High Proof
“Citrus on the nose palate and finish. Love it. Some mint. Anise. Lots of agave. Refreshing minerality to it. But citrus is the star. Great proof point at 96. Finish lingers awhile with a nice citrusy tartness. ”

Wild Common Tequila Blanco Still Strength
“Lot 5. Beautiful pour. Coats the glass. Great legs. Agave mint herbal on the nose. Nice mineral quality. Some citrus notes too. Palate is sweet up front. Anise mid palate. Cinnamon kick on the backend. Finish is long. Pepper. Cinnamon. The transition from backend of palate to the finish is amazing. ”

Yeyo Reposado (2025)
“Solid repo but suffers in comparison to the single barrel version. Nose is nice but kind of weak. The palate is a little stronger with the same flavor profile. But just a little. Enough agave to enjoy. Some butterscotch. A touch of pepper on the finish. Hits all the right notes. I will enjoy this till the last drop. But wish I could turn up the volume just a notch. ”

Wild Common Tequila Añejo
“Lot 1A. 94 proof lifts cooked agave front and center throughout. Carmel. Apple. Citrus and mint on the nose. Agave again and Apple plus baking spice on palate. Refreshing minerality. Amazing finish. Loads of pepper for an Anejo. Lasts long with cinnamon aftertaste. Lives up to expectations. Pricy at $85 but feels like a bargain. If I could get Fortaleza Anejo for that off the shelf (God I miss those days) it would still be a decision that could go either way. (91)…Lot 2 just as good. Absolutely loving this. Bumped up one on finish. Pepper Cinnamon and even some molasses. Amazing. 23-29-25 (92). ”

Wild Common Tequila Reposado
“Lot 7. Nose is sweet agave. Some butterscotch. Light mint and a bit of basil. Amazing. Palate matches nose. Adds a little white pepper on back of palate. Black pepper on finish. Slightly astringent but not too bitter and lingers on the tongue nicely. 24-28-22. ”

Siete Leguas Blanco 47
“Excellent across the board. Beautiful pour. Coats the glass and the aroma grabs you with the first swirl. Familiar earthy tones from the regular blanco. But sweeter with more pronounced agave. Geared towards complex rich earthy and savory tones as opposed to brighter floral tones. Palate follows the nose. Concentrated flavors but still drinks below proof. Finish lasts awhile. Not as complex as nose and palate but nice lingering flavor. Glad I grabbed this one. ”

Don Vicente Tequila Blanco
“Not sure what to make of this. Will revisit later. But initial impression is it’s kind of bland. Maybe I’ve been dipping into the high proof blancos too much lately. The nose is light agave some citrus mineral and floral notes. The palate is a little watery. Soft agave and light sweetness on front of palate. Some anise and white pepper on back. Finish doesn’t have a lot of flavor but a peppery tingle manages to stick around in the end. The price point is about $5-10 more than G4. I think I prefer G4. ”

Los Dos Tequila Blanco
“On par with other Sergio Cruz creations. Nothing wrong with it but may be a little overkill. I’d take Yeyo or Siempre over this. Nice mineral quality. Refreshing. Sweet agave. Bright. Crisp. Definitely enjoying it. But somewhat redundant. Nothing new here. ”
