“An agave bomb with spicy floral notes and lots of cooked agave. Wonderfully viscous mouthfeel and body. Delightful long lasting finish. Reminds me strongly of Tapatio Blanco, but less better w heavier caramel agave notes. I don’t know which I like better, both are fantastic and well priced.”

“Has a clean metallic quality hovering over an agave bomb. Scents of honey, vanilla, a little pepper for bite, lots of floral and grassy notes, with a strong velvety finish that goes from what I imagine licking a pleasant battery is like, into a milky tea that dissipates.”

“Very sweet and aromatic fruity and vegetal bouquet. All those scents are tasted on the palate and then begin to transform into bitter buttery notes and light or med shortish finish. Better than the repo imo ”

“The first thing I noticed was the bitter and pungent smell. I don’t get any wooden aromas. Has a heavy mineral and herbal scent. Light fruit notes, maybe pear. The taste is just like it smells. Very clean. Deep and complex mineral notes on top of agave and a pungent anise or other bitter herb. Excited to find how my opinion on this develops throughout the bottle, as it opens up.”

“The aromas are better than the flavors. Sweet cooked agave overpowered by barrel scents. Peppery and spicy notes. Heavy alcohol and wood flavors, closer to añejo flavors or straight whiskey. Finish is dry and bitter. ”

“My first tasting I really smelled a lot of the various fragrances, both sweet and bitter, but the taste on my pallet was mostly the bitter and long burn of the hp. After a new go round, and after making a mixed drink with it, I tried another glass and this time really got the full range of floral and anise aromas and flavors. Medium body, long finish. Sweet and bitter aroma at the same time. Well balanced.”

“Can smell and taste the agave. Sweet but spicy and peppery, with a decent finish. Has a dry aftertaste. Smooth and very drinkable. I expected more smokiness, and was interested to try a tequila that’s produced like mezcal. I’d be very interested to learn how the process differs, because the smoke is more of a complement to the flavor instead of a key ingredient. Price point is solid, especially for tequila, but for the same amount I’d rather buy a bottle of 400 Conejos.”
