Really liked the flora notes in the aroma. A bit of a surprise but a welcome one. Solid agave flavor coming through with a nice rounding out by the barrel. It was slightly hot upon first sip but mellowed as time went on. Nothing complicated about the finish. A nice value for the expression and from a well-regarded producer.
The aroma unfolds with familiar elements reminiscent of the blanco, now accompanied by a gentle honey note. Cooked agave, softened walnut nuances, and hints of white sugar, vanilla, and baked sweet potato create a layered olfactory experience. Subtle undertones of peppermint and lime citrus add complexity. Through tasting, the influence of the barrel becomes evident, tempering much of the ethyl heat while introducing a delicate honey note and faint oakiness. The agave's presence is notably softer compared to the blanco, offering a smoother palate experience. Warm peppermint, anise, and baked sweet potato flavors emerge, accompanied by a diminished ethyl pepperiness and sour grass that transitions into the finish. In the finish, the sour tones observed in the blanco are notably lessened in this Reposado expression. Instead, the peppermint notes persist consistently from start to finish.
Cooked agave, barrel notes, pepper, stone fruit. A very good everyday sipper at under $30
Floral, cinnamon, and slight bitter oak.
Bottle: Lot RX10-270522, 11/08/22 Appearance: Medium straw Aroma: Cooked agave, butterscotch, honey, caramel, black pepper, oak, vanilla, butter, alcohol, honey, red and green apples, cider, molasses, hay, minerality, and citrus…like a cross between tequila and Thanksgiving dessert Palate: Butterscotch, cinnamon, honey, black pepper, molasses, cooked agave, almond, butter, oak, alcohol, caramel, chestnut, red and green apple, vanilla, hazelnut, minerality, clove, earth, citrus, lemongrass, and subtle smoke…I’m absolutely blown away Finish: Long, with barrel spice, cinnamon, alcohol, black pepper, and butterscotch stealing the show… Overall: I have to admit that I didn’t expect to like this as much as I did. For around $30 a bottle, there isn’t a better value available.
10/20/22 nose: hits u in the face! buttery, butterscotch and a little oak taste: agave, sweet, caramel, butterscotch. finish: sweet, short, a little peppery notes: I found myself asking how did they get these flavors without additives!?! I had just opened the bottle so I'm interested in revisiting to see what I think
Tasted at Distillery
Cooked agave on the nose but not prominent…. Minerals, Wood and tobacco…. Has a good body… cooked agave, cinnamon, black pepper, dark chocolate bitterness.
Not much fun. Too smooth. But overall good.
Sweeter than both blanco & platino on the nose
On the nose, Cooked agave, Apple are very prominent. A little heat on the nose. Some faint oak and a nice vanilla Coming through. On the palate, agave and apple are right there, and some spices. Like cinnamon and clove or allspice, something like that. A little bit of citrus, and still has that tang I didn’t like in the blanco, but it works here in the medley of flavors. Overall solid, definitely a good budget mixer or even an okay-ish sipper.
Aroma of cooked agave, oak and apple. Flavor of cooked agave, cinnamon and black pepper. Medium long finish. Excellent value for liter bottle.
Non mixto, old bottle. Delicious agave on the nose and palate. very enjoyable to drink
The best value Reposado with great agave characteristics and flavors
Tried and compared to the gran reserva repo. Nice clean agave smell but it has a funkiness in the middle and end. Like they kept the heads and tails
Aroma : Agave, apples, baking spices, and light oak. There's a bit of grassy funk too. Taste : Mellow fruits and agave are paired with light black pepper and oak. Finish : Medium length with bigger, bolder spice and fruity notes.
Nose: Truthfully, at $190 pesos, I did not have high expectations. But this nose is blowing my mind! It starts with sweet light colored fruit (pears, apples), and agave, accompanied by lively spiciness. There is an herbal note of dill, a little barnyard funk, straw and cut grass. A musty cellar note, not unpleasant. Flavor: Cinnamon, cracked black pepper and caramel to begin. Creamy vanilla and almond paste come next to complement the spicier elements. This is only 38% ABV, but carries itself like a heavyweight. Finally, a little of the funky barnyard agave aroma follows in the palate. Finish: The agave and spices linger forever!
This really surprised me. Its fruity in a slightly unripe, tart green apple sort of way. It reminds me of another well known brand. Lots of a agave, pepper and raw asparagus on the tongue. The aging evens it out. I bought this at El Buho for less than $10 USD. Recommended!
You’re going to be tough pressed to find a better entry level Reposado! Agave notes for days on the nose & tongue, extremely gentle oak that doesn’t effect the profile much.
The aging adds another element to the blanco and provides just a bit more balance. Barrel spice lightly touches this along with some agave sweetness.
hint of mezxal
Notas de pimienta pero más suave que un blanco, más ligero, con una terminación más tranquila y más fácil de manejar
Weird smell. Nutty, mild fruit and nectar flavor.
At La Pena. Nice balanced cinnamon and agave smell. Similar taste with heat building fast in back then calming just as fast in finish. But it does burn a bit in back. But a nice lingering cinnamon flavors.

Vanilla oak caramel and other barrel notes. A little thin and none of the flavors really stand out.
