“The oasis a bit muted for me, I get mostly alcohol and some brown butter. On the body I get cooked agave, lots of cinnamon due to the heat, and oak. I do appreciate the longer finish due to the higher ABV but overall I would personally prefer the regular reposados. Ocho likes to age their offerings to the bare minimum and in this case it’s a bit hot for my preference. Absolutely adore Ocho but this one was a bit of a let down for me. ”

“NOM 1121-I. Striped color banner bottle. I get lots and lots of … peach? Very earthy on the nose. Just a hand full of valle soil. The body however screams of peaches which I can’t remember noticing so distinctly on others. Vintage Quita Penas non mixto and 1079 Tesoro Azteca Repo scream of tangerine. This stuff is peachy and I really like it. Not to mention, at 43% ABV, it’s extremely approachable. ”

“I got lots of mint. Which I enjoy. While I appreciate the experimentation, it didn’t feel very different from a regular blanco. My favorite part was possibly the finish. Long, minty, zesty, almost like little minty agave pop rocks on the tongue. ”

“I didn’t enjoy the nose much. I picked up a bit much alcohol but it was countered by a lime/tangerine zest I did like. Once sipping, the alcohol level dissipates on the tongue which was calming. Enjoyed the mid level viscosity and natural sweetness of the cooked agave which is definitely present. ”

“Was unfortunately very let down by this one. Love the blanco, like the repo. This just tasted muted from start to finish. Unpleasant amount of alcohol on the nose, tasted burnt all through the flavor. Would not buy this again. ”

“I got rose petals, loads of cooked agave and a cool moist clay/cement note on the nose. It is very aromatic and immediately rises out of the glass. The body develops into lots of ripe cherry. A velvet, tongue layering texture and viscosity. Some smoke and heat on the finish but that's the earthen pit and higher proof talking. ”

“I got a lot of dark chocolate on the nose. Tobacco. Dark cherries. Vanilla. Butterscotch. But I also get a little alcohol that sneaks up and reminds you it's still very much Tequila. On the body, more of the same. However, I could use some viscosity. A little thin in the mouth. Heavy tobacco, bitter chocolate. The finish is short for my taste. This one would probably pair well with a Cigar if you're into that sort of thing. ”

“Did not enjoy this one. Something musky/mildewy about it from start to finish. The finish was extremely flat. Could be a bad bottle. ”

“A little light on the nose. Velvety, sweet but not overly, cooked agave, canteloup and floral notes on the body. Much better than newer Espolon.”

“Really well structured. Not often that the nose, body, and finish all follow the same profile. Extremely floral but not too bright, likely due to 3 years of aging. ”

“A light faint in the nose. Flavor and finish of light bourbon, light brown sugar and maple, baking spices. Nice medium long finish.”

“I was really excited with the nose but was let down with the body and the finish. Lacks a punch and the finish is surprisingly short and underwhelming.”

“Lots of orange/tangerine. Starts in the nose with some alcohol, carries into the body and through the finish. A tiny bit muted all the way around. ”

“Lots and lots of green apple. On the nose and on the body. Knocked a few points off for price. Really soft and oily on the body which I liked. Not a huge fan of the specific moment when it transitions from tasting to the swallow.”

“Very "round"/viscous. Mostly roasted, sweet agave and lots of black pepper. Spicy finish right onnyhe tip of the tongue. ”

“Lasting, spiced but not "burning" spice finish. Fills the mouth over time. NOT Medallion but is a Wilson Daniels Blue Ceramic. ”
