“This tequila used to be my standard up until almost a year ago. I first tasted it at a high end hotel in CDMX when I asked the bartender for a shot of his best tequila. I sorta chuckled but it tasted phenomenal. That was 2013. I bought another one in 2017 and it was really good too. But recent bottles haven’t been good. You can really taste the additives and the agave gets lost. Maybe it’s because I know more about tequila now than I did back then. Too bad. There are so many better XAs for way cheaper it’s not even funny. It still holds a special place in my heart because it began my tequila journey. But, it’s just not for me anymore. ”

Viva Mexico Añejo
“This is probably the best bargain añejo out there right now. The nose is light agave. Light barrel notes as well. Hint of Vanilla. Long and clean finish with a little burn. Agave really shines. My go-to righty now with a nice cigar. Hard to beat. ”

Volans Blanco
“This is a great Tequila to have on your shelf to turn someone on to good Tequila. The nose is so special. The agave just smacks you in the face. Ultimately, I expected more flavor at this price point especially after smelling that incredible agave punch. Terralta has a similar taste profile at a much lower price. The finish is clean but peppery. My preferences out of El Pandillo are G4, Terralta and Primo. For a few more $$, I’d grab the Primo instead of the Volans. It’s more interesting. But if you have some friends that you want to turn on to a good entry level blanco with a special nose, grab this guy. ”

El Tequileño Platino Blanco
“This is a beautiful blanco. So light, crisp, citrusy and the agave bursts through. This will be a permanent staple on my shelf. Great with some margaritas and neat as well. ”
