“Negative artificial sweetness, thick glycerin mouthfeel and finish of sweet cough syrup. Not good, not for the traditional Connoisseur. ”

San Matias Gran Reserva (US)
“Love Rey Sol, so I thought I would like this as well, but did not quite hit the mark for me. Great bargain for what it is though! Cooked Agave up front with sweet plum, cherry, raisin. mid palate of common French oak attributes, cinnamon, all spice, tobacco, light butterscotch. medium to long finish with woody bitterness. Positive, medium heat all the way through, with a bit more astringency than I care for. I will be saving for another bottle of Rey Sol instead.”

Cascahuín Tahona Blanco
“very clean, smooth, artisinal tahona notes of vegetal, minerality, very grassy, mid palate and finish of white cracked pepper. a little to grassy for me, ill stick with Fortaleza Blanco if side by side. ”

El Tesoro de Don Felipe Paradiso
“Amazing Nose!!! light agave, pear, cherry, tropical, light charred wood, tobacco, tahona minerality, butterscotch. Different everytime you go in and let it sit. Palate is a smooth heat, cooked agave, smoke, leather, tobacco, wood/barrel spice, pitted fruit, and light butterscotch mid palate. smooth lingering finish. enjoyable oily mouthfeel. Agave version of a distinguished scotch. Had to go back to this one and enjoy it even more as it opens up! ”

Maestro Dobel Añejo
“I wouldn't say it tastes like whiskey, but it burns, behaves, and finishes like a whiskey. I really like Maestro Dobel, but the anejo fell very short from their other offerings. cooked Agave is present but is immediately covered by the wood notes and whiskey burn. ”

Clase Azul Reposado
“Very Smooth, and even more sweet! light cooked Agave and then right into the strong vanilla and almost cake batter sweetness. Very easy to drink neat. Definitely tastes manipulated with additives, but its done well. it's actually my wife's new favorite. ”
