“Great stuff. Loads of agave. Great smell and flavor. It does give a little burn in the throat that I don’t get from other high proof offerings. ”

“The sherry and cognac barrel influence produces a deep luscious velvety smell and flavor unlike anything else I’ve had before. I don’t notice malt or peat or any influence from the scotch barrels though it likely contributes to the flavor. For me this is very one-note, but it’s a damn good and unique note. Only negative is the price tag. ”

“Very good. At first it smelled strongly like banana pudding but as it sat, a cherry cordial note formed - both seemed fake to me. On the pallet I got raw agave, cherry, leather, and whiskey which seemed genuine. There was a caramel/vanilla/oak kinda thing that seemed artificial, The finish was extremely long wood tannin that water couldn’t wash away which I’ve never gotten even on 12 year old bourbon. While it was tasty, and they used an independent lab to state they are additive free, the flavors and smells didn’t seem genuine. The price tag is a little steep so this will likely be my only dram.”

“Tried this at a tasting and it was wonderful. It tasted like it was aged in mescal barrels which is not what I expected from French oak aging or from all the youtuber comments. There was no apricot or chocolate or French oak. It smelled like creamy vanilla and light smokey creosote. The pallet was smoke, wet cement, cream soda, earth, minerals, and brine. It won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but it was great. Similar to artenom 1123 but a bit better. My only negative comment is It felt very thin in the mouth and not as luscious as the other XAs I have tried. .”

“Smells of earth and vegetation and mild agave and alcohol. Tastes of bell pepper, minerals, earth agave, mint, mild sweetness. Finish is dry earth and mint and bell pepper. Very vegetal. The longer the tequila remains in the glass, the more vegetal it becomes. ”

“Coats the glass and stays there. Strong smell of agave. The pallet varies…. At bottle opening there was a funky Lactic or cheesy flavor that wasn’t my favorite. Sometimes it’s agave, hint of grapefruit, pepper, smoke, vegetal. Sometimes I only get agave and a sweetness. Drying earthy finish. Conflicted in a score due to that funky lactic flavor. ”

“Very mild. Not much flavor at bottle crack. After sitting for weeks it has developed a light vanilla and agave. ”

“First bottle was dark as though it had more of the wet aged mezcal in the barrels. It was Smoke, vegetation, champagne, cream soda, agave, cinnamon, pepper, mineral, licorice. A bit more creosote than I like but it’s tolerable and gives nuance. Second bottle was much lighter. Different. Good but not nearly as good as the first bottle. Not as much char, cinnamon, licorice or cream soda flavors. Mostly just light creosote and typical tequila. Very expensive but the wet barrel finishing adds cost. Not sure I will buy this again unless it has that super dark color. ”

“Agave, grapefruit, sweet citrus, touch of mineral and vegetation, light earth, alcohol. Can tell this is high proof at times. Also get a funky butter off flavor at times. ”
