“8/17/2015 On the nose there is caramel and honey right off the bat which makes me think that this is aged closer to the 2 month limit for blanco, or perhaps in new American oak. Honeysuckle and floral notes follow with a hint/whisper of agave on back. There is a baked quality almost like butter blondies or even dulce de leche. On the palate there is robust cinnamon and spice. Menthol brings the brightness through and a sweet oak comes in at the end. Again surprisingly little agave coming through and a little weighty sweetness. Finish is sustained for a good period, however it becomes overly sweet and slightly metallic (like when you have bottled beer without wiping where the cap was) the tingle lingers well over the 1:30 minute mark. A lot is going on in this glass and I am surprised it is a blanco.”

“8/16/2015 Bright agave on the nose, night blooming jasmine and wet Dewey grass. I imagine a foggy morning near a river. Wet stone and menthol in the back ground. The Agave has layers of fresh and cooked. On the palate the body is light and has a surprise kick and vibrancy to it. For such an agave driven tequila I am amazed how it bright and not oily it is. Mint, peppermint and eucalyptus really show through. Cut grass on the back with confected cinnamon. Orange peel and citrus notes show them selves on second pass. The finish is long and tingles well over a minute after. Not a lot of viscosity to weight it down. Love this stuff”

“8/13/15 On the nose a definite earthy funk, barn yard aromas intermingling with robust agave notes. Can definitely sense the cooked sugars and the hand of the distiller in this blanco. Ripe tropical fruit also make an appearance in the back ground. Papaya, guava and mango The palate is soft, almost muted when paired with salty food. I think it's best expression is with spice. There is a sugary and oily quality that thinly coats your lips. A weightier blanco to be sure. Here in the palate is where you notice the agave with a big earthy punch. Cinnamon and spice is very minimal compared to the other flavors. The finish lingers but is very subtle. The oily, tactile elements remain as a nice feeling begging for some acidic food to join. Overall a nice departure from those blancos that are pushing for the bright and vegetal. This is a thoughtful blanco that almost belongs with aged tequilas. A true delight!!!”

“8/11/2015 Got this bottle as a promo gift and knowing full well of the marketing push behind it, I still found it enjoyable. On the nose we have light vegetal aromas agave, cucumber was surprised to not really feel the heat in my nostrils. In the palate green, grassy with a slight pepper but the sweetness covered the tongue and suppressed the other flavors. Finish is mostly quick and a little cloying at the end. Overall I think this is a great introduction into sipping tequila and finding enjoyment in in the greener, fresher, floral side of tequila. The sweet factor is something that I could do without, however I do understand that this it approachable to the greater tequila drinking public. ”

“Lot 27. 8/4/2015 White flowers, jasmine, plumeria on the nose. Honeyed with a slight spice, not quite fully cinnamon. Citrus notes as well. On the palate: orange zest and parsley with candied peppermint ontop of smokey honey. Oak aging shows through but does not loose the agave profile. Nice balance for an anejo. Finish lingers with a little tingle, char and menthol. Light but lingering. Fantastic!”

“NOM 1454. 5/19 Nose is clean and sharp with cinnamon right up front. Has a lot of heat. Slight secondary notes of tropical fruit, pineapple coconut. Really get the agave on third pass. Light in the palate sweet and spicy. Lot of heat on back sharp clean cinnamon and vegetal come through. Banana and floral notes show through a few sips in Finish is nice going from floral to petrol and the burn in your throat lingers. ”

“5/16 Nose is vegetal with melon and grape really showing through. Slight hint of pepper on the back, jalapeño and cilantro. In the palate there is a confected sweetness underlying a burst of spice and cotton candy leading into almost watermelon. Notes of herbs after. Finish is excellent lingering in the tongue and giving floral sweet melon effervescence I've been so excited to try this tequila and it did not disappoint!”

“Lot 27. 5/16 Nose of honey and baking spices with hint of orange peel and sticky buns. Has a slight agave vegetation showing through at the end On the palate you really taste the earthy vegetal agave with layers of oak and brown sugar showcasing the agave that was so carefully selected. Has a nice weight to it giving it a seriousness that balances the sweet flavors Finish is good, long and has a lingering caramel aroma. Beautiful drink!”

“Lot 28. 5/15 The nose is soft and floral with jasmine. Vegetal and slightly cinnamon Palate is green and bright with white pepper and slight baking spice with honeysuckle. Spearmint and herbaceous as well. Nice viscosity as well although it seem leaner than some in recent memory( not that is anything to be trusted) Moderate length on the finish, no huge alcohol burn although a nice tingle left its mark. A well made handcrafted tequila to be sure”

“5/12 FIRST EXTRA ANEJO TASTED!!!! I've tasted them before but never rated them. This will be fun. Rich and spicy with subtle baking spices on the nose. Much like the label implies there are a lot of tropical notes of papaya and guava leading to a big well structured okey molasses note. On the palate it is a full octane burst in the mouth and throat that lingers. Slaps you awake and makes you realize what the term "rested" means because this is none of that. Hot caramel notes and spice dominate the finish with a nice burn. This is an aggressive tequila that just goes to show that you can still be feisty in old age.”

“NOM 1121. 5/12 Floral and grapefruit notes are all over the nose on this tequila, rich and oily this is definitely enticing and makes you want to delve right in and drink! You know this is something special just by smelling On the palate it is simplistic but not pedestrian, clear spice(cinnamon and nutmeg), vegetal(charred peppers and mint) and wood( maple, oak and hearth) with a little yeasty baking quality. So subtle and so surprising The finish is spot on and you really see the agave expression come through here. Absolutely lovely!!”

“5/12 Wow, what a great tequila, even after aging it showcases the agave beautifully with pepper, eucalyptus, jasmine on a bed of maple and cinnamon. On the palate is where the barrel aging really showed with honeyed characteristics, white pepper and a hint of cardamom. Fantastic! The finish is just as it should be. Lingering just in the back of my mouth, a subtle reminder of a beautiful spirit. Overall one of the most pleasurable tasting experiences I have had!”

“5/12 Green notes of bell pepper and freshly washed mixed greens. Petrol on the nose with nail polish and dare I say blueberries!? Great oily characteristic with plenty of spice and pepper notes. The agave really shows through in this spirit. Weighty and yet not overbearing. Would definitely or happy to see this bottle behind the bar. Has a lot of heat and a little burn down the throat. Finish lingers with earthy agave flavor and a slight tingle just behind the tip of the toung.”
