“Grabbed this at 50% off at Sip - and a bargain makes everything taste better. Generally earth and minerals and vegetal flavors are my thing (and additive free, no question), but in this case it seems as if they all run together and become muddled or, maybe, muddied. Wouldn’t pay more than $40 for this and likely won’t seek this out again. Not at all bad, just not good enough. ”

“NOM: OneFourOneFour. Wrong you cannot go. While I’m not the most terribly well and widely tequila-ador, this would be my go to. $75 retails (and I snagged it for half that at Sip - should have bought a case). But, I’ve not had a tequila at any price better. Much like all things fine, it reminds you of other fine things and then of nothing at all. It’s tequila and somehow not. The why scotch does. Or a Dylan song that defies words. Or the best cigar that can never be had again. Buy the ticket. Take the ride. ”

“Really have enjoyed other Mijenta offerings. This one, to me, tastes muddy (maybe muddled) and then sharp to the point of being nearly distasteful. Could be me. Could be my marlin shirt and straw hat. Or the 100 degree day that is this day. Just not picking up what this rabbit is putting down. Also. Blanco is my jam - as the kids say - so perhaps this review is a grain of salt that you should take. ”

“Laws, brudders and seestoahs. This is all the way up there. 1414. And you can’t go wrong there. High proof. Bring yer own splash of agua. Or don’t. Made the way it should be made and supporting big cats where they are. Others will give you the tasting notes and whatnot. I say. Buy it. Sip it neat. On a humid evening (if you have those where you are) and tell the truth to someone you love or someone you don’t or no one at all. But sip it. And tell it. And tell me if it isn’t worth every penny. Blame me for typos. Or blame the tequila. Either way. We all win. ”

“Found myself wanting this to be something more than I found it to be. I mean, I drank Weller before it was cool (and expensive). Micro-batched. All the things, as is said. And I enjoy the peppery, buzzy finish, but the flavors never really came together for me (there was no rug that really tied the room together as The Duder would opine). It all really seemed to get muddled at the end. Great reviews. Could be me. Could be this green couch. Could be my neurotic mini-Aussie. Blame it on Rio. ”

“Picked this up with no background beyond Matchmaker reviews from Sip for 50% off. Damn glad that I did. $65/bottle (700 ml) is a tad steep, but I think I might, on occasion, do that for this. Fine sipper neat-o. Has an earthy, bluesy southern thing going on. Like a Frank Stanford poem put to music by Lucinda Williams. Needs to be a hot night. Heavy. Fireflies. Screen doors. A fan to keep the mosquitos down. Atmospheric. ”

“Try everything from 1414/Vivanco, friends. Clear that they care deeply about quality and process (and classical music). It all matters. Picked up several bottles from Sip on sale (worked out to $45/bottle which is better than a good deal). Not sure I’d pay $60/bottle when other labels from 1414 - especially Viva Mexico - can be had for that. Others can tell you more about the details of tasting notes, but give it a shot. Nice bottle weight (which matters to me) and label art. Put an ass’s ass on a label and I’m there. ”

“Snagged this from Sip in a promo, so I can’t speak to retail $. Organic. Always a plus there. From a NOM that kicks out some goodness. Another plus. Drinkable as hell neat. In a wooden charred vessel from Whiskey Grail (recommended for agave drinks also). This one is imminently serviceable. A utility infielder who hits .265 and doesn’t ride the skipper for playing time. Comfortable. Accessible. Makes the world better, but doesn’t ask to be noticed. Give it a go. ”

“NOM 1424 (wasn’t an option). Licorice (that word never looks correct to me). Lots of it. So if you like it, you’ll like it. Rounded in the mouth - could almost be a tad sour, maybe, but not at all sharp. Not much nose. The finish is smooth to the point of nothingness. Not at all bad to drink, but a to ton of fun to nose. They this with a curry dish. Sip has this in a flash sale at 1/2 off. Huge bargin. Beautiful packaging (nod to Jobs). Give it a tip, friends. ”

“Skinny little bottle which lines up with the profile. Not big. Not bold. Absolutely narrow. By not straight - the flavor not the bottle. Nothing about which to complain (which some of you might take as a complaint). Just kind of slips past on the nose and the mouth and the finish. Sneaky. Ninja? I prefer a little more ruckus and think there are better blancos for less. Not at all bad. But also not at all great which may be exactly what this is supposed to be. Give it a tip. Neat is how I’d go first. ”

“I can’t say that I’ve ever been able to taste the tahona difference. But I believe with this one that I can, even if only a little. If “rustic” is a flavor, this is it. Probably especially so with the blanco that I have not tried. And “slow” as well. Which I appreciate is not a flavor. This is very much worth the $45 or whatever it’s going for. Nabbed this for 50% off from sip and would have bought a case had I known. Absolutely worthy. A daily drinker. Neat-o. ”

“This is different than any tequila I know. There is something of rounded pine (don’t think needles, think nose) or even rosemary here. Easy finish. Nose is more alcohol forward than the tongue. I snagged this at 50% from Sip - huge bargain. But even at $50 this is a pretty good grab. Easy sipper. ”
