Zumbador Tequila Añejo
“6/21/26: Not a big Anejo drinker usually too much barrel influence. But Zumbador has done something that not many others have been able to do and that is get a blanco drinker to buy a second bottle of Anejo. And the price point on these is insane for the flavor. Great job Zumbador!”

El Ateo Blanco Still Strength
“4/24/26 - Aroma - this has some stank funk on the nose. It’s familiar but can’t pin point where I’ve had similar profile. Not my cup of tea aroma wise; not appetizing. Taste: so the aroma does inform the taste on this one - you do get a chewy acidic agave flavor with some peppers. Taste is better than I expected from the smell. This is highproof and the alcohol is there but it is managed quite well throughout. Just had another taste and I’m getting caramelized burnt agave - like overcooked baked agave that you get at distillery. Finish: long and changing - lots of tingle left on back of mouth and top of mouth. I wouldn’t call it burn at all and that is what catches you off guard this highproof allows flavor throughout the sip. Starts with that stank agave flavor with peppers and subtly changes to only agave Interesting sip. ”

I get no agave; barrels overwhelm Finish: finish is lite not strong at all, get the fruit notes if the wine throughout ”

Clase Azul Reposado
“12/9/25: disclaimer - tasted at corporate event where rich people just like trying the expensive stuff. Being polite I obliged even though it was a $45 price tag. It was a good case study for me without having to pay those crazy prices Aroma: not strong at all, but what you could smell was some sort of sweetness but it was subtle. Could not pick up on any agave. Taste: first taste was interesting it was not powerful and did not have a harsh swallow and I can see why it’s popular. Pick up on some woody and then vanilla sweet taste. After the first sip the subsequent sips were even sweeter and I could not finish my glass. Finish: again very subtle possibly even smooth finish. Flavor almost disappears not sure how they do that but again I see why people that have idea of tequila being harsh would find this appealing. Hang Over: I suspected I would get a headache just from the one glass as my body has become accustomed to additive free and when something is artificial I usually feel it next day. I had a minor head ache a few hours later but when I woke up next morning no headache. Overall: way too sweet and way too expensive ”

G4 Blanco Clásico
“11/01/25: Aroma: subtle aroma not strong at all; grassy still present maybe some lemon or citrus. Taste: sweetness on the front baked agave; mouthfeel is viscous and thick almost chewy. Sweet then grassy/minty then sweet again. Really digging this! Finish: amazingly subtle finish, hardly any burn; sweetness throughout +1 Taste 09/25/25: G4 to O4! Salud! Aroma: wet concrete some grass; sweet baked agave. Close your eyes and you can smell the distillery! Taste: this is an explosion of flavors - some green agave baked too; some heat but not much - licorice maybe some mint Finish: very subtle finish - flavors linger but minimal burn. ”

“12/19/25: Taste: less minty that last and sweetness and thick like very viscous. +1 for flavor 11/20/25: +1 for flavor 8/31/25: Aroma - citrus mixed with herbal and green agave Taste - tasted very similar to the aroma which probably deserves kudos to the master distiller because more often than not that is not the case. The high proof amplifies the green notes; reminded me of the Cerro del Gallo Ocho harvest which I was not a fan of. Finish - long finish burn is tame and minty throughout ”

“9/13/25 Aroma: smells like Jalisco and fields of agave; baked agave with some spice and heat Flavor: thick and viscous mouthfeel; on the front mild baked agave; butter and peppers towards the back. Definitely mint as well Finish: minty/peppery some heat but not bad lasts long time. +1 flavor 6/29/25 - Lot 45BE Aroma: green agave, rain and some peppers Flavor: initially you get maybe some flavors from the wood tanks. Mint throughout the taste, herbaceous. Finish: not too hot and not too long grassy and minty throughout the finish but not hot which is difficult to do when primary flavors are spicy/hot ”

“2/15/26: Aroma: sweet Taste: same notes Finish: numbness but this time I taste a weird after taste -1 for finish 12/21/25: Aroma: sweet agave, haven’t been to the distillery but it gives you sense of the smell of the distillery. Taste: this one is silky and will get you into trouble it’s so easy to drink. More baked agave Finish: I’d say long even though it’s not harsh there is some tingle and really the agave is still present throughout Rating +1 taste 6.27.25 Aroma: very sweet agave smell and not in an artificial way. Getting some banana maybe honey and of course some baked agave Taste: not as sweet as the aroma, but does have a sweeter profile but still has some green peppers and some heat with it. Not sure on the flavors but it’s easy to drink. Finish: flavor lingers but the heat dissipates quickly so it’s a suave finish ”

“8/31/25: Aroma - subtle but green and herbal maybe some wet concrete smells Flavor - black pepper and mint; not strong at all maybe nutmeg makes your mouth dry Finish - some burn but not much - does linger with grassy notes throughout 6.27.25 - Aroma: still got that grassy/minty maybe lemon zest Taste: okay second try and bug punch of herbs but this time I do get more green and baked agave. Yeah but still very herbaceaus and just not my thing. Finish: lingering mint not too much heat but some from the peppery flavors No change to score 6.22.25 - Batch 03-B-24 Aroma: green agave some peppers Taste: minty and watery but viscous at same time - definitely some green herbal agave maybe lemon zest and some grass. Some bitter/spicy notes at the back and sides - not sure I like that part of the sip. Finish: that bitter taste lingers and some heat from the peppers as well. Like the front but the finish is not for me, reminds me of Ocho Cerro del Gallo which while undoubtedly made well was one harvest that I just did not like”

“9/28/25 - aroma - strong agave again with the wet concrete. I like this aroma Flavor - don’t sleep on this blanco - HP but drinks like regular meaning burn is light - nice flavors - agave strong and thoughout - cinnamon or nutmeg something along those lines and some mint. Finish - semi-long, minor heat viscous finishing 5.9.25 - Aroma: sweet agave all over the smell along with wet concrete. I’m digging this Flavor: I’m getting tapatío vibes here but a bit hotter with some tingle. Very viscous and herbaceous on the back end. I can taste the proof in this too; good but drink with care. Finish: some heat and pepper very long finish. Strong lingering finish with some burn ”

“5/2/25 Aroma: not very aromatic at all. What you do smell is some faint funkiness and alcohol. Can’t discern agave well maybe some green agave notes. Taste: interesting - some different levels of flavor opening up thoughout the taste. On the front I’m hit with mild alcohol and some weird sweetness that is morphed to some greener notes mint grass and then followed by more sweetness at the end. Can’t say the flavors wow’d me in a good way. Finish: long earthy finish with some burn throughout Not digging this one; I’ll need to revisit”
