“House of Rare SIB. Very much agave forward with subtle sherry barrel. Vanilla and caramel but still pepper spice. Almost a little tannic/bitter but not alcohol hot. Unsure of what the retail was since it was a sample. TW had them for around 120 but not the sherry barrel, which were 500. Which is crazy. At 100 there would be 4 or 5/10 in value. At 500? Nope. Very happy to have sampled it.”

“I’m a little off from the rest of the community and could be my affinity for all their expressions. Maybe I’m just an OVC fanboy. Little more bite and pepper than other expressions like Manuscrito, Ensueno, etc. Perhaps the higher marks are for its deviation from some of my other favorites. ”

“Are my samples “flat”? Starting to wonder. The Palo and La Loma are just kinda missing a spark. So was my Rum Barrel Ensueno batch 2. Solid but decidedly unspectacular. Vegetal. Low mineral. What’s missing here is the finish on any of these.”

Lots of chocolate, which my son picked out on the nose and sip. I’d run a glass or 2 back just to dabble further but I don’t think it would change overall for me.”

“Thought from the nose we were heading down the Zumbador, Manuscrito, Ensueno cinnamon and basking spice rabbit hole. Will update my notes but there is a mineral/cement note that I wasn’t expecting with the aroma. I do enjoy it. Not sure about the packaging but at $55 it’s way more in line than what is listed as a $150 repo. Interesting bottle that I would like to revisit. Is it possible that this is the Tahona blanco? Got it in a swap and only says Exquisito. ”
