“Notes of vanilla and butterscotch on the nose. Similar taste. A little less sweet than some other additive tequilas. Definitely don’t get a lot of agave. ”

“A lot of agave and sweetness on the nose. Really pleasant vanillas and caramels coming through and a little apple as well. Much different taste. Agave, pepper and spice. A bit of caramel and butterscotch sweetness. Peppery and long finish. Very good overall but maybe a bit overpriced. ”

Sauza Hacienda Silver Tequila
“Pretty inoffensive on the nose. Not a lot of agave, a bit of rubber and alcohol. But not a pleasant sipper at all. Medicinal, very alcohol forward, no agave. Bad enough that it’s still not worth it for the price for mixed drinks. ”

“Incredibly mild nose and palate. Subtle agave on the nose and a hint of vanilla on the palate. Very easy to drink, short but smooth finish. It’s hard to knock anything about it but it’s also not offering much in terms of complexity. ”

“Great aroma of oak, cinnamon, vanilla, butter, citrus and agave. Less depth on the palate. Agave and citrus with a bit less of that vanilla and butter. Really pleasant finish with a lingering buttery agave taste. ”

Tears of Llorona Extra Añejo
“So many scents come through, cherry, chocolate, oak, whiskey. The agave gets a bit lost in the background. Tastes almost exactly like it smells. The strongest oak flavor I’ve had in a tequila. Leather, smokey, cherry, and whiskey are all pretty dominant. Not a ton of agave until the finish. Definitely has a bite but also a strong and agave forward aftertaste. ”

Casamigos Tequila Añejo
“Very pleasant aromas of vanilla, caramel and butterscotch. Almost like vanilla frosting. The least artificial smelling of the Casamigos, but no agave. I definitely don’t get any pepper or agave on the palate either. Lots of vanilla and butter. The finish is short but with no bite at all. Not a bad sipper but really not characteristic of a tequila. ”

Casamigos Tequila Reposado
“Absolute caramel, vanilla and butter bomb on both the nose and palate. Coupled with how smooth it is, it’s easy to see why so many new tequila drinkers find this so approachable. Little to no agave and an underlining artificial taste and smell. ”

“Fruit, butter, earthy and almost a roasted marshmallow scent on the nose. A lot of agave too. It’s a little more difficult to pick out on the palate. Some citrus and butter with a peppery kick to it as well. ”

Volcan de Mi Tierra Blanco
“Pretty subtle nose of melon, citrus and agave but surprisingly strong flavors! I get some vegetal, pepper, agave, citrus and almost an ash sort of taste. A very sweet almost fruit snack like finish, totally unlike most of the vanilla sweet finishes of other tequilas. ”

Codigo 1530 Origen Extra Añejo
“Loads of depth in the aroma. I get caramel, butterscotch and earthiness. Similar on the palate with a lot of caramel and a bit of leather. Great viscosity and complexity. For $300+ it’s pretty bad value but makes the $40 Codigo tasting set an excellent value.”

“Unfortunately one of the worst sippers I’ve ever tried. The aroma is fine, you get a little citrus and a lot of alcohol. But the citrus flavor is very chemical and artificial and the finish is awful.”

“We must’ve gotten a bad batch because this is so off from what everyone else is saying. Strong alcohol smell with maybe hints of glue and oak. An even stronger pepper on the palate with a lot of burn. Really has to be a bad batch or something but pretty disappointing. Will have to try again. ”
