Very light amber color in the glass. Not sure how long it's aged. Aroma of cooked agave, vanilla, cinnamon and oak. Flavor of agave, black pepper spiciness, hint of vanilla in the first sip that seemed artificial. Medium finish.

Taste:Agave,Citrus,Lemon,Oak,Fruit,Pepper,Earth,Cacao,Creamy,Alcohol. Reminds me of a Root-Beer finish, delicious. Very entry level and easy to drink. You can taste the presence of the Blanco in the Repo. The barrel changes the flavor but the consistency of the taste is undeniable

Frankly it's rather bland without much agave. Drinkable but not impressive in any way.

Alot of vegetal , citrus, slight caramel, a little licorice that doesn’t blend well together

Nose has 3 primary notes: initially pineapple, midway is, oddly enough, Scotch tape, and the latter notes are sweet like crème brûlée The palate doesn’t match those aromas for me

Not much on the nose. Tasted a lot of citrus, some pepper and cooked agave with a pretty sting alcohol taste. Finished with a little hint of cinnamon. Overall nothing blows you away but a solid tequila that will do in a pinch.

Got as part of a sampler. The REP is not too much more distinguishable from the Silver. I actually stray away from most REP's due to this. Slightly (very slightly) woody but very unimpressive.

Is light for a Reposado, with hints of agave and caramel on the nose. Alcohol and vanilla on the body and finish.

The exposure to oak brings a lot of pleasant secondary flavours, but also makes this more alcohol forward and upsets the balance. I find this expression best enjoyed with an ice cube to calm it down, I can drink those all night.

Nose: Citrus, ripe agave, ripe red fruit and a hint of minerals. Flavor: Agave up front with anise, cinnamon and vanilla. A hint of toasted nuts. Finish: Fruit, vanilla and moderate pepper. A little light on the finish. Like the blanco, a bit of bitterness. This a properly made tequila, just not too exciting.

Aroma; weak. Flavor; understated. Body; thin. Finish; ok. I am still searching for something positive to say.....

Light clean taste but with that watered down alcohol burn vibe typical of patron!

Rated blind: Super subtle aroma on this. Light in color, both of which I appreciate for not being overdone because agave is still present. Flavor is nice, real and natural with a lingering sweetness.

Smooth and sweet, with notes of vanilla, honey, light oak, and a touch of caramel. It’s mellow and and I find it a bit too sweet or lacking boldness. Would I drink it again? Maybe. Not an exciting profile.

Fresh and bright aroma with a soft burst of sweetness, maybe too much for me. Could be more balanced but enjoyable enough.

Soft on the nose. Bit of agave, barrel-notes, butter and light alcohol. Some lactic-funk, but just a hint. Pale straw color in the glass. Thin but silky mouthfeel. Palate follows nose with cooked-agave, hints of vanilla and caramel with a bit of peppery-spice. Finish is quick and somewhat dry with some lingering pepper on the tongue.

Lots of citrus and pepper. Slightly sweet as well. Slight alcohol sting to it.

Patrón reposado doesn’t coat the sides of the glass for very long after a swirl.  It is a very light yellow.  Before tasting after the initial pour, I let it aerate for 10-15 minutes. On the nose there are aromas of cooked agave, quite strong vanilla, caramel, and butterscotch (like a caramel or butterscotch candy), a very light hint of pepper, honey, light citrus and hints of fruitiness (light), and a hint of a melting butter aroma with some oak influence.  The aromas are very nice and better than the flavors. On the palate, there is a quick sweetness and vestiges of vanilla, caramel, and butterscotch that made their appearance on the nose (but they are initially hard to discern over the alcohol; this changed on subsequent pours).  On the first pour there was a very strong hit of alcohol.  The sweetness lingered on the palate despite the alcohol and the pepperiness with oak tannins and anise-like bitterness on the swallow.  The finish was very short with that bitterness on the back palate lasting the longest.  Though hot on the sip, the heat didn’t remain long in the throat and chest on the swallow, unlike, for example the heat of Codigo 1530 Blanco. On subsequent pours after further opening up, the aromas remained the same and continue to be pleasant.  There was more change on the palate with the sweetness, pepperiness/alcohol heat, oak tannin/anise bitterness coexisting and melding much more harmoniously than they did in the initial new pour.  Patrón Reposado has become a notably more pleasant sipper as it continues to open up.  The finish remains rather short with much less/shorter bitterness than it had on the neck pour. On the nose for pours after the bottle’s been open for over a month, the alcohol remained quite strong even after the bottle’s been opened for over one month.  The aroma profile was still quite subtle & light.  There were light hints of cooked agave and baking spices, caramel & butterscotch (like a caramel candy chew), a citrusy fruitiness, butter, honey, & light pepper. On the palate, there was an initial sweetness of cooked agave/baking spices and citrusy fruity sweetness followed by a hit of pepper and an anise/oak tannin bitterness.  The mouthfeel remained buttery/oily/creamy, though the finish was still short.  The hit of alcohol and pepper at the end of a sip remained pretty strong, not mellowing much with age (since the bottle was opened).  The flavor profile remained more balanced than on the initial tasting.  The flavor profile also remained quite light, likely because of the carbon filtration, though the flavors are not unpleasant and still seemed to improve the longer the reposado aerated in the glass. Patrón reposado is not an unpleasant tequila, despite it being lighter on flavor than other reposados around the same price point.  The price remains the main hurdle for me with Patrón, just like with the Silver (blanco/plata), though I liked the latter much less in terms of its flavor profile.  At $50-55 pre-tax for a 750 ml bottle of Patrón Reposado, it is just harder to pull the trigger and buy a bottle because it is just not as flavorful as other reposado options around the same price point in my area.

Slightly smoother than the Blanco. Might be good for a mixed drink (e.g., a Paloma). Lots of other better choices.

Sweetness The sweetness is enhanced by the aging process, with notes of vanilla, caramel, and a hint of cooked agave. Spiciness The spiciness is slightly more pronounced than in the Silver, with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg adding depth to the flavor profile. Bitterness There is a mild woody bitterness imparted by the oak barrels, along with nuances of dark chocolate and toasted nuts. Finish The finish is medium-long, with lingering flavors of vanilla and spices. The aftertaste is smooth, with a well-balanced blend of sweetness and oak notes.

Nose: A mix of vanilla, caramel, oak, and a hint of agave. Palate: Predominantly caramel and oak notes. The bottle was a gift, but I personally didn't enjoy it and wouldn't recommend this reposado with so many better options available. I ended up finishing the bottle by using it in cocktails.

Review #105 - Patron Tequila Reposado

This one is probably the weakest effort from the Patron line and I generally like reposados the best because they are a nice balance of the agave punch with the aspects and craftsmanship of the particular distillery. This one disappoints on both fronts.
