“Strong agave, mineral and heavy vegetal notes. Signature NOM 1123. Packs a punch too!”
More info →“Best tequila I’ve had. Complex with heavy agave, earthy minerality and a hint of spice all while remaining very drinkable. There’s a savoriness that cannot be replicated. Top tier to be sure. Well worth the price ($100). ”
More info →“Better with age. Let it open up for a couple months and it improves. Barrel influence but can still taste the agave. The true mark of a repo. However, doesn’t hold up against my favorite repos. ”

“Definitely a high quality sipper. Makes a great tequila old fashioned too ;)”

“Good yet disappointing. Not much barrel character, strong pepper. Improved over time but given price I wouldn’t seek it out again. ”

Fortaleza Blanco
“As good as advertised and definitely a top tequila! Gets more complex over time. After being open for 6+ months it’s opened up quite a bit. Among my favorite blancos now. Scarcity (and hence secondary market price) bring it down in rating. ”
More info →“Salinity and metallic agave w/ hot finish. Very good. Can definitely taste the 108 proof. Prefer Wild Common SS but prefer Cazcanes over Don Fulano Fuerte. Edit: A little hot and a hint of bitterness. Decreasing rating. ”

Amatiteña Tequila Blanco Origen
“Wanted to like it, I really did. I enjoy mezcal and thought I would enjoy the smoke. But this….this is burnt wood, tar and gasoline. Putrid and undrinkable. Tried it straight, chilled, mixed into ranch water and other mixers. Tried it day 1 then after a week then after a month. Never improved. ”

“Thought it was good not great to start. But after a couple weeks it really opened up and I love it. Bright with a hint of pepper at the end. No alcohol finish. Side by side with Lalo I actually preferred this (surprisingly!). ”

Yeyo Reposado (2023)
“Cask 1, Bottle 202. Vanilla, oak and butter. Hint of banana. Top 2 reposados I’ve had (El Tesoro). Smooth finish without bite that Mijenta Repo has. Would highly recommend. ”

Tapatio Blanco
“Clean blanco. Hint of sweetness. No alcohol bite and lacks the metallic taste of some budget blancos. Not my favorite blanco but can’t be beat for the price!!”
More info →“Love it! Classic 1123 that opens up nicely after some time. Mostly minerals and vegetal with no alcohol at finish despite the higher proof. My favorite overproof so far!”

Cascahuín Tahona Blanco
“Crisp clean agave and that’s it! I think that’s the beauty of this one. It’s what tequila should taste like. Smooth and no alcohol on finish. If I could find this everywhere at a decent price it would be my go-to. Sadly that’s not the case. I think I like ArteNOM 1123 a bit better for my top spot. ”

ArteNOM Selección de 1579 Blanco
“Fine but a bit bland. A mostly solid blanco. No funk, hint of alcohol. Very clean but not enough pepper for my liking. Like it more than the other NOM 1579 offerings I’ve had (Volans, G4) but always a bit disappointed by 1579 in general. ”

Mijenta Tequila Reposado
“Vanilla, oak, butter. Tastes like tequila less than other repos I’ve had. More like a whiskey with agave coming at the end. Good in the right cocktail or neat. Smooth with only a small alcohol bite on finish. Took off points for price compared to El Tesoro. Don’t drink it like a blanco looking for the agave kick. ”

Chamucos Blanco
“FUNKY! Let me say it again: Funky! Pretty good if that’s what you’re going for. Know that after it opens up it gets even more dank. Prefer it straight; Not great for a tequila tonic. ”

Volans Reposado
“Harsh. Pepper. Least favorite Repo I’ve had so far. Taste is ok but finish is poor. Drinks more like a blanco (and not a great one at that). ”

LALO Tequila Blanco
“Fresh agave! Mint, citrus, slight sweetness. Great finish. A superb blanco!”

Insólito Blanco
“Fresh, bright, unassuming. A bit boring if you’re looking for complex. Tequila for a ranch water by the pool. Not as good as Lalo or Cascahuin lineup. Edit: Decreasing rating after doing head to head comparison with other blancos. Just doesn’t stand up and after taste is off-putting. A bit “medicated” at finish. ”
