“Aroma - agave, lemon, bitter green bell pepper, tangy horseradish. Maybe a tart green apple. Taste - light and sweet agave at first. Then a pop of a tangy citrus pepper. Cinnamon. Finish - all the tangy flavors hang around. Goes to a bitter cinnamon, and It fades to a light honey. This is a very unique tequila. It’s very complex with a mix of sweet and tangy. Though it leans more towards the bitter and tangy rather than sweet. While I like it, I don’t love it. It’s not my preferred flavors. It’s a nice change of pace but the price knocks it down for me, and since it’s not my preferred flavor profile, I wouldn’t buy it again. ”

“Fall 2024 edition- $66 purchase. Aroma - roasted agave, floral, and citrus. A little fruit like canned pears. Taste - sweet agave with a little char. Sweet fruit syrup in the back. There’s a nice peppery citrus bite too. Finish - earthy and peppery to finish. And what I love the most, minerality lingers for so long. I’ve been eyeing this bottle for so long and finally decided to give it a try. The regular ADJ was good, but didn’t blow me away, so I was hesitant to try Nocturna. This bottle exceeded my expectations. It’s fantastic. There’s so much flavor. It’s everything I like in tequila. Sweet agave (but not overly sweet) mixed with peppers and minerality. It’s readily available in Texas and I’m pumped. For $66 this is a steal. ”

“Aroma - sweet agave, citrus lime, salty green olive. Taste - nice light sweet agave with a little minerality. Citrus turns to lemons. Finish - a little dull, but still nice. Flavors linger, but in a watered down way. Not very punchy. Quality that is expected. Aroma and taste are fantastic, the finish on this batch didn’t match up. I bought this bottle in Tokyo for $55. I’d really love if this bottle was readily available for $10 less. There’s other HP Blancos that I like better in that range. ”

“Aroma - nothing but sweet agave in your face. Taste - super sweet agave and cinnamon. Finish - agave and cinnamon again! Finish - long lasting and minty. Bought for $39.99. I wish I had more time with this bottle but I put it out at a get together at my home and it did not last. People drank it, and drank it fast. Everyone loved it. I compare it to LALO Hp and Tequila Ocho Puntas. I like it just as mush as those 2 bottles but it’s $25 cheaper. What a bargain. This is a sweet agave blanco lovers dream. At this price, it’s INCREDIBLE. I’m glad this is easily accessible in my market. This gets high marks for its price. What a steal. ”

“Aroma - very fruity. Wine influence is apparent. Taste - fruity wine again takes center stage. Agave is hidden and it’s a very sweet pour. It has a flavor that reminds me of red vines. Like a synthetic strawberry waxy flavor. Finish - sweet grapes and a little tangy agave comes through at the end. My bottle was a Specs store pick priced at $72. It was on sale for $52. It’s not my favorite as a sipper. The agave is hidden too much by the strong barrel influence. It’s very sweet and would appeal more to a wine enthusiast. I missed the agave flavors. It was pretty good in a Tommy’s Margarita. I used less agave nectar because of the natural sweet flavors already in the bottle. Points marked off for value, and lack of agave punch. ”

“Aroma - agave, burnt caramel, a little floral. Taste - peppery, agave, caramel with a warming cherry. Finish - somewhat short, with the cherry lingering. I really like the cherry flavor I’m getting with this. ”

“Full transparency: tasted double blind among some quality tequila blancos and repos. It was not first in the tasting. I rated it high because it stood out. However, after tasting again after 2 weeks, and by itself, these are my impressions. Aroma - savory cornuts, and frito chip scent. It’s a little minty. Taste - savory flavor similar to the aroma, with a bitter slightly sweet vodka flavor. Finish - somewhat long lasting and a bit mineral and citrus flavors linger. It’s fine for being cheap. I’d drink again if in a pinch. I think it’s better than what the community rates it. Not the best sipper for those who love an agave forward spirit. ”

“Aroma - sweet cooked agave and mint. I also get hints of wet earth. Vegetal green bell peppers. Taste - minty and mineral. Vegetal (bell peppers from the aroma). Finish - cinnamon and an almond orange zest. This is an excellent blanco. I love everything about it. It’s a pure heavy hitter. Tons of flavor that is saturated in your mouth. The aroma evolves as it sits and changes. The taste is straight forward with the minty mineral taste I crave in blancos. The finish is great because the sweetness of the pour comes through. As a whole, it’s bold and lets you know what it is. ”

“Aroma - pretty straightforward fruity sweet cinnamon. Taste - peppery sweet agave and hint of vanilla buttercream. Finish - the sweetness fades to a bitter pepper. I like this pour because the agave shines and the barrel influence takes a back seat. It’s still there though with that little bit of vanilla buttercream. I was a little let down at the end when the sweetness turned a little bitter. ”

“Aroma - very fruity (stewed apples), and very buttery. After it’s been sitting a while, I got a scent that reminded me of pencil shavings. Maybe a shaved wood? Taste - this one is savory. It has a little smoke flavor and a spicy jalapeño. All components go well with the sweet agave. Finish - savory smoke remains and little sweet mint ends. This one hits my profile as well. I love the savory element. It reminded me of a bacon wrapped jalapeño that was cooked on a grill. I’m a big fan of this pour. ”

“Aroma - wow! Super fruity at first. Like Fruity Pebbles cereal. It faded to a nice sweet herbal scent. Taste - sweet agave forward. Cinnamon spice with a nice almond extract warmth. Finish - super fruity and minty. I got spearmint, cherry syrup. Or the juice at the end of a fruit cup. This is a quality tequila that really suits my flavor profile. I like how the sweet agave appeared as a more fruity minty experience. $69 is fair enough for this pour.”

“Aroma - funky cinnamon and a hint of tangy. Like a horseradish. Taste - sweet agave with a nice citrusy sweet flavor. Almond extract complements the pour. At $25 this is an absolute gem. This was a gifted sample. The blanco is hard to find in Texas but the repo is on the shelves and I will have to pick one up. ”

“Bought for $52 at Total Wine. Aroma - light scents of sweet agave. Earthy and a minerality. A little Spearmint gum. Taste- bitter sweet agave. It comes off as cinnamon candy flavor. There’s some black pepper that makes it a little spicy. Finish - is earthy and bitter. The cinnamon flavor lingers. You can tell this is a high quality clean tasting tequila. It’s priced well for what it is but not as good as I’d hope. I’d like it more if it was around mid $40 or lower. I was hoping for more complexity as it’s higher proof, but it was straight forward. It’s not my preferred profile but it was nice. Probably more for the El Tequileño fan that wants it amped up a bit. ”

“Bought for $63 at Total Wine. Aroma - nice sweet agave with a hint of lime. A little sweet floral notes. Taste - tangy sweet cooked agave and the lime is there. A little spicy pepper that balances out the sweetness. Finish - it’s not a sweet finish, it turns lightly bitter and earthy. Bitter like a citrus peel. Minerality is all that’s left after a few minutes. I’m happy with this purchase. I like the price for being a higher proof bottle. Seems like they make it the traditional way, and it does show in the quality. ”

“My bottle was aged in a William LaRue Weller barrel. Price: $43 + tax Aroma: sweet oaky cinnamon apples. Agave is there but it’s masked by the cinnamon spice. After it sits a bit, some citrus is there, like a lemon-lime soda. Taste: sweet cinnamon apples follows through. Very oaky and peppery. Finish: sweet and peppery. A little agave minerality wants to make an appearance. And citrus also develops. I agree with others in saying this is a bourbon lovers tequila. I happen to love bourbon as well. It’s very sweet, but there’s flashes of tequila flavors with citrus and minerals. It’s nice. I love the price of this bottle. A tequila purist might turn their noses at this, but I think it’s a pleasant pour. ”

“Aroma - sweet lactic funk, almost bubble gum-ish. Taste - sweet agave, pepper, creamy citrus. Finish - the citrus lingers. A little of the pepper. Very enjoyable. Similar to Don Folano. It’s very approachable and I like it. ”

“Aroma - very nice super sweet agave. A little green olive juice. Sweet and savory. A little raw honey. It has a lot of depth. Even some floral notes. Very complex. Taste - sweet cooked agave, same as aroma. Olive brine. Sweet and savory taste wise too. Peppery. Finish- warm sweet agave and peppery. Long and pleasant. $67 in Texas. What a step up from standard LALO blanco, which is not one of my favorites. 2025 edition is best of the best. One of the best tequilas I’ve ever tasted. For my palette that is. Bonus points for it being widely available. ”

“I bought a single barrel Specs pick. It was $79.99 I like this tequila. Much better than Yeyo blanco. Good agave flavors mixed with fruit. For me it was like a fruit cocktail flavor. What kills this was the price. You can get a similar experience with fruity flavors from a Terralta Repo at less than half the price. ”

“Aroma - very sweet roasted agave and citrus. A bit briny and some minerality shines if you dig deep. Taste - sweet agave shines through as the star, there’s a little bit of pepper and some lemon zest. Super sweet flavor overpowers from regular G4. Finish- fades quickly but the sweet flavors fade to vegetal and mineraly. Finally finishing to an earthy wet soil. This is a quality top tier tequila. Where it falls short is the value. I prefer regular G4 for $30 less. ”

“Lote 4 Aroma- sweet roasted agave, citrus, and cloves. A little vegetal like green bell peppers. It’s very light and floral even. Taste - good agave forward sweet flavors and the citrus comes in too. Basically it tastes like it smells. It’s very thin and light with flavors. Finish - it’s short but lingers gently. Not too powerful. The sweet agave fades to slightly bitter floral notes. I like this tequila. I bought it for $56 and that’s where I’m let down. I like this but I’d rather have other bottles in the $45 range. It’s a great tasting sip but the flavors are a little muted. I imagine the higher proof version is the better buy. ”
